WORK IN PROGRESS WORKSHOP FOR YOUNG RESEARCHERS IN HYDROGEN SAFETY

The Work in Progress Workshop for Young Researchers in Hydrogen Safety is organised by the eAcademy of Hydrogen Safety. Its purpose is to provide an opportunity for young researchers to meet and discuss with peers and leading scientists in the area. Young researchers are given the opportunity to present their work before an audience consisting of researchers; representatives of projects involving hydrogen, industry, educational institutions, legislative bodies, fire- and rescue brigades, etc. This Workshop will be held on the 10th of September 2007; one day before the start of the Second International Conference on Hydrogen Safety (ICHS). Those giving a presentation at the Work in Progress Session, and, who additionally would like to present a poster at the Second International Conference on Hydrogen Safety (see poster instructions below) should indicate this to the organisers by ticking "Presenting a poster at the ICHS" in the registration information.

Click here to download the registation form.

Please submit this to Dr. Arief Dahoe at ae.dahoe@ulster.ac.uk with a copy to v.molkov@ulster.ac.uk, rp.morley@ulster.ac.uk and estibaliz.ezponda@inasmet.es after completing it.

ARE THERE FEES FOR ATTENDING THE WORKSHOP?

There are no fees for attending the workshop: attendance is free. The places on the workshop, however, are limited and available on a 'first come, first served basis'. Those who attend the dinner will settle the costs on their own expenses.

Poster Instructions

Poster papers will be displayed on panels (free-standing boards tackboard with white background) for the entire duration of the conference. The size of the tackboards will be 1m wide by 2m high. Authors are kindly requested to use an A0 format (dimensions: 84 cm width and 119 cm height). It is recommended to print the poster on a single sheet of glossy high-quality paper. [Gluing individual A4 sheets on the board is forbidden].

Authors are responsible for mounting their posters, and removing them again afterwards. We will provide materials to mount your poster. Authors will have access to the display area prior to the start of the conference to affix their poster to the assigned space. Posters should be brought to the Conference by the authors. Please do not mail them to the Secretariat or Conference Organisers. Organisers are not responsible for posters not collected at the end of the meeting.

The Poster header should include the following data (in visible font sizes):

·
Poster title
·
Author Names
·
Affiliation
·
Institution Address
·
Authors' email address

You are kindly requested to devote considerable effort to the design of your poster. The poster has to be self-explanatory. Please make sure that the text, illustrations, etc. is legible from a distance of two metres. Avoid putting too much material and text on the poster. Make your heading and title clear and legible. The poster should not include any direct or indirect promotion or advertisement to any organisation, except the author and the institution name. Authors are encouraged to include a small picture of themselves on their poster to facilitate interactions with other attendees.

Note: There will not be flat table space or chairs next to the poster areas. At least one of the authors is expected to remain with their poster during the poster sessions. Bring paper and pen. There are no blackboards available. Please do not write or draw on the Poster boards.

ABOUT THE ICHS

The EU-funded NoE HySafe, under the auspices of the IPHE, is currently organising the Second International Conference on Hydrogen Safety (ICHS) from 11-13 September 2007 in San Sebastian, Spain. The network is organising this event in collaboration with principal European and international projects on hydrogen safety. Communicating the risks associated with hydrogen is considered to be of central importance in the establishment of a sustainable economy based on hydrogen as an energy carrier. The conference is therefore focused on safety issues relevant to the improvement and coordination of knowledge and understanding of hydrogen safety. The ICHS aims at providing a basis for eliminating safety-related barriers to the implementation of hydrogen as an energy carrier and as such, will also contribute to promoting public awareness and trust in hydrogen technology. More information may be obtained from the ICHS page.
